Meet The Team

Dr. Smith

D. Preston Smith, MD, FACS, FSPU

Dr. Preston Smith obtained his undergraduate degree from Rice University in Houston, Texas and his Medical Degree from the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, Texas.  He completed his Residency in General Surgery at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee and is Urology Residency at Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, Illinois. He then completed his Fellowship in Pediatric Urology at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, Tennessee. He is board certified by the American Board of Urology.

David Hill, MD

Dr. David Hill completed his undergraduate degree from The University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee. and his Medical Degree form The University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences  located in Memphis, Tennessee.  He completed his Internship and Residency in General Surgery at Parkland Memorial Hospital, University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas.  He also completed a Residency in Urology at University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences in Memphis, Tennessee and was an Observer in Pediatric Urology at Great Ormond Street Hospital, Shaftsbury Hospital, London, England.  Dr. Hill then completed his Fellowship in Pediatric Urology at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota.  He is board certified by the American Board of Urology.

Beth Andersen, MD, FAAP

Dr. Andersen completed her undergraduate degree, medical degree, and Urology Residency at the University of Washington located in Seattle, Washington. Her Fellowship in Pediatric Urology was completed at Seattle Children’s Hospital in 2001. She is board certified by the American Board of Urology with additional Pediatric Urology subspecialty certification. During her years of clinical practice in the Seattle area Dr. Andersen received multiple Top Doc awards from Seattle Metropolitan Magazine and Seattle Magazine. Dr. Andersen joined the team at University Pediatric Urology in 2022.

Danielle Gosser, PA-C

Mrs. Gosser received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of the Cumberlands as well as her Master’s of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. She is a Board Certified Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.  She has been practicing at University Pediatric Urology since August 2015.

Lauri

Lauri Gingerich, CPNP

Ms. Gingerich obtained her Bachelor of Science in nursing from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee.  She worked as a pediatric emergency room nurse for four years during which she obtained her Master’s degree in Nursing from King University with a concentration  in Pediatrics.  She is a Board Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board.  She has been practicing at Univeristy Pediatric Urology since 2018.

Sydney Keener, FNP-BC

Mrs. Keener received her Bachelor of Science in nursing at The University of Tennessee-Knoxville.  She has worked as an RN in adult medical-surgical inpatient care as well as pediatric inpatient surgery.  She obtained her Master’s in nursing from Carson-Newman University. She is a Board Certified Family Nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Ms. York has been practicing at University Pediatric Urology since 2020.
